Keep Your Flowers Blooming

Fresh cut flowers bring so much joy to your home! Here are some key tips to help them last longer and stay vibrant.

1. Immediate Care Upon Arrival

  • Recut Stems: Cut 1-2 inches off each stem at a 45-degree angle to increase water absorption.
  • Remove Submerged Leaves: Strip leaves that will be below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Clean Vase: Wash your vase with soap and hot water to eliminate harmful bacteria.
  • Hydrate Immediately: Place flowers in clean water as soon as possible.

2. Water & Flower Food

  • Use Flower Food: Mix in the provided packet for nourishment and to keep water clean.
  • Change Water Regularly: Replace water every 1-2 days to prevent bacterial buildup.
  • Recut Stems Often: Give stems a small, angled cut each time you change the water.
  • Use Lukewarm Water: Most flowers absorb room temperature water easily. Note: Tulips prefer cold.

3. Placement Matters

  • Avoid Direct Sunlight & Heat: Place in a cool spot away from sun and electronics to prevent dehydration.
  • Keep Away from Ripening Fruit: Fruits like apples release ethylene gas which ages flowers.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Give flowers space in the vase for better air circulation.

4. Ongoing Maintenance

  • Remove Dying Blooms: Gently remove wilting flowers and leaves as they appear.
  • Prevent Ethylene Release: This stops dying blooms from harming healthy ones.
  • Keep it Fresh: Regular pruning keeps the entire bouquet looking beautiful.
